My work begins with a reflection that explores the fundamental connection between human existence and the universe, centering on the concepts of “harmony” and “unity,” embracing change and openness while examining the relationships between humanity and nature, individuality and the whole. Through the dispersion and combination of lines and forms, I seek ways to generate resonance with the viewer. This reflects the process of inner tension and change, manifesting as a continuous attempt to find balance with the surrounding world. For Baek Haeyong, art strives not to remain at the level of formal completeness or beauty, but to contemplate humanity’s relationship on a more fundamental level. This work seeks to open a space where past and future, individuality and the whole, finitude and infinity can coexist.
